breast reconstruction

Micropigmentation can be used to give the appearance of anatomical structure for a nipple/areola complex where it has been lost due to mastectomy, creating a 3D effect. It can also be used to return colour and contrast if the nipple has been reconstructed surgically.

It is very individual and not everyone needs nor wants an areola/nipple tattoo after mastectomy, however many women speak of the tattoo ‘completing their breast cancer journey’ and they thus achieve a sense of closure to a chapter in their lives and feel even more able to move forward.

In the case of a breast lift and/or augmentation, where there is scarring either on the inside or around the outside of the areola, or on the body of the breast, micropigmentation can help to camouflage these areas giving a very natural and less scarred appearance.
